Shillong, July 4: With the aim to achieve mass awareness to the people of the state on the subject of HIV and AIDS and to motivate talented youth to not only showcase their skills but also to-enhance their understanding on the subject, the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society (MACS) is organizing the Meghalaya Icon where the will be the brand Ambassador and Spokesperson for HIV and AIDS Awareness activities of the MACS for a percod of one year or till the next icon is crowned.
The Grand Finale of the Meghalaya Icon IV will be held on July 6, 2013 at Laban Sports Club, Shillong from 12:OO noon where the Meghalaya Parliamentary Secretary, Dr. Celestine Lyngdoh will be the Chief Guest. Cash awards of Rs. 1, 00, 0001-, Rs. 30, 0001- and Rs. 20, 0001- will be awarded to the winner, the 1″ runner-up and 2nd runner-up respectively. Besides Rs.10, 0001- each will be given to the best singer, guitar player, bass player, drummer, rhythm or Keyboard player plus the opportunity to perform at all the events and festivals that the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society sponsors throughout the year.(SP News)
