GSU to call for a public rally on the 23 to pressure the GHADC not to allowed Non Tribal to Contest MDC Election

Tura,  July 15: The Garo Student Union (GSU)  this time will pursue aggressively with the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council to bring a legislation to bar  Non Tribal for contesting the MDC Election. Tengsak  G Momin  said that  the Sixth Schedule mean for the tribal said the president of the student organization.

Talking to  SP News Agency,  the Student leaders  said that  the GSU will start  with the poster campaign on the 17 of this month follow by the strike to all the office of the GHADC in Garo Hills on the 18 and 19 and the public rally will held on the 23 of this month at Tura.

The GSU from time to time has taken this issue with the GHADC to legislate to bar the non tribal from contesting MDC Election, like what has happen in the JHADC and the KHADC, if  the two District can do why not in Garo Hills said Mr  Momin.

The GSU president said that they are not against any body but the Sixth Schedule mean for the tribal which mean the tribal of Meghalaya. The GSU fill that since the GHADC mean for the tribal in Garo Hills the GHADC should not allowed non tribal to contest MDC election.(SP News)
