Tura, August 01: The Garo Student Union (GSU) will call for the General meeting to seek the support of the people for the demand of Garo State. If the central Government can give Telegana state they too have their right to demand.
Speaking to SP News Agency the president of the GSU, Tengsak G Momin said that the main demand of the GSU right to the inception of the Union in 1972 is to seek for the Garo State but the issue subside it but now with the Telengana state the GSU also will seek the mandate of the people on the demand of the Garo State.
About the Garo National Council he said is the oldest regional party in Garo Hills which still survived and their demand is For the Garo State. In fact it is the GSU who spearhead the issue since 1972 and the organization is one of the frontal group during the APHLC movement to demand fro the Meghalaya state.
The GSU will make noise on the issue of Garo State, The issue will be discuss in the general meeting of the Union in the next week which they have not fix the date.(SP News)
