Shillong, Jan 5: The 1st Tiger V Football Tournament, 2012 trophy was lifted by the Hala Madan a team from Madan Laban by defeating Nongkynrih Brothers.
The tournament was organised by the Hynniewtrep National People Federation (HNPF), here on Saturday at Shillong Vidyalaya School ground.
The match started with an exciting note in whihc the boys from both the team showed great skills and talent as both the teams were fighting till the extra time but ultimately the better team won.
Speaking at the prize distribution ceremony as the chief guest, Sounder Strong Cajee said that he hopes that HNPF excels in years to come.
“The Federation has given a beautiful platform for these boys to show what they have got,” Cajee said.
Meanwhile, cash prizes and certificates were awarded ti the winners. However, Man of the tournament was awarded to Ronaldo dhar from HNPF, Discipline Team was bagged by Jawai Mini and Top scorer was awarded to Banrap Pyrbot from Macho Guys.
It may be mentioned that the tournament which started in December 17 last witnessed 20 teams from various localities.(SP News)
