Shillong, August 26: The Home ministry of the central has asked the report from the state government to sent the report to the ministry on the khasi literary which the department of Art and culture is on the work to prepare the report.
The Director art and culture Smti M. Syiem told the SP news Agency that they have received the letter from the government to the department few days back and the department is working on it.
From the department they have sort the help from prominent writers to assist the department in preparing the report. In the letter the home ministry has asked the government of Meghalaya only on the Khasi literary.
When asked weather this is a step to induct the khasi language in the eight schedule of the constitution the director said that it was not clear about it but this is the good sign that the government of India is seeking for the report on the khasi language. (SP News)
