Shillong, Septe 07: Today the police of Assam have intercepted one truck coming from Dimapur moving towards Garo Hills whilce reaching at the pace call Khetri the police stop the truck while searching they recover huge consignment of arms and ammunition from the Truck.
The arms that the police has recover from the truck include, one AK-56, one 303 riffle, one shot gun, one .22 riffle and the ammunition 33 numbers for the use in the shot gun, 354 ammunition mean for 7.62 SLR , 112 ammunition of the AK 47.
From the integration the driver of the truck reveal that all these arms and ammunition are meant for the GNLA militant and he was instructed to deliver them at Mendipathar of North Garo Hills District.
In these connection the police has arrested three person Prabhu Mandal who hail from Guwahati, Salim Sangma and Bulbul Phukan both are from Tura. The police are still interrogating these people to know more about the arms smuggling to the militant out fit in Garo Hills.(SP News)
