In any circumstance,selection of students will not be made merely on academic merit of 10+2 marks

Shillong, May 31: The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare,Government of India has issued an instructions vide letter no.u.14014/2/2014-NE-IV dt.27.02.2014.stating that the mode of selection of candidates for nomination against Central pool seats will ‘be made by the beneficaiary states, UTs,Government Departments on the basis of marks obtained by the students in the Entrance Tests conducted by beneficiary States ,UTs,Government Departments.

If the beneficaiary states,UTs, Government Departments is not conducting any examination,The selection will be made on the basis of marks obtained by the students in All India pre-Medical Entrance test (AIPMT) conducted by CBSE.In any circumstance,the selection of students will not be made merely on academic merit of 10+2 marks.’’

Following the above directives and keeping in mind the interest of the students who would be going for medical studies at various colleges to be allocated by the Government of India,the Department after a thoughtful deliberation decided to meet the above requirement by holding the state Medical Entrance Test. The Entrance Test examination will be held shortly.(SP News)
