Shillong, August 03: Coffee is famous in the world and it is a common drink to all section of people even in Meghalaya many people drink coffee not only in the coffee shop but even in 
their house.
Meghalaya is good for coffee cultivation, in all parts of the state but reason best known to the people who are helm of affair that Coffee cultivation in Meghalaya is almost a neglected subject with the state government.
Sources close to the alike department like soil and water conservation and Horticulture department they have not encourage people to go for coffee cultivation in a massive way in the state since the government has not earmark enough found for awareness campaign.
Growing of Coffee is negligible in the state of Meghalaya expect few villages under pynurlsa community and rural development block and few under Mawsynram C&R D Block which started recently.
Thank to the Coffee Board of the government of India who encourage people to go for coffee cultivation but due to lack of man power they could not propagate in the proper way. Coffee is a last crop where the farmer can earn a lot if the state government take in a right direction to encourage the former of the state.(SP News)
