Indian smuggler arrested by the BSF

Shillong, January 27: On 26th Jan 2013, on specific input, BSF troops of BOP Namchapara Ex-132 Bn deployed in South Garo Hills distt of Meghalaya apprehended three Indian smugglers namely Kiengra Sangma aged 20 yrs s/o Nikhal Marak, Balmisom Sangma aged 18 yrs s/o Kanta Marak and Peetar Sangma aged 30 yrs s/o Jadue Marak, all are r/o Vill- Namchapara (Killapara) Ps- Baghmara, Distt- South Garo Hills (Meghalaya) while they were infiltrating from Bangladesh to India near BP No. 1132/2-s. During the search, Ops party recovered 100 Nos Chicken worth Rs 35,000/-, 30 Kgs Fish worth Rs 3,900/- and 03 Nos Mobiles with 01 BD and 01 Indian SIM worth Rs 4,500/- (Total Rs 43,400/-) from their possession.

Besides above, BSF troops of Meghalaya Ftr, also seized 37 Kg Hemp, 17 nos cattle, 72 Btls Liquor , Country boats and other contraband items of the estimated cost of Rs. 4,37,000 ( Rupees Four lacs Thirty seven Thousand only) during the last week.

The apprehended person along with seized items have been handed over to concerned department for legal action. (SP News)
