Shillong November 26: With an aim to encourage the students who excelled in the academics at the Secondary and Higher Secondary school level of the year of 2012 and besides to encourage them to pursue their career and continued with the hard work and also to promote information technology amongst them, the government of Meghalaya through the Information and Technology department presented laptops to the meritorius students from across the state at the Meghalaya IT award to meritorius students -2012 which was held at Yojana Bhavan Auditorium on Monday.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest IT minister AL Hek congratulated the students who were awarded laptops during the award ceremony. Besides, he also encouraged them to continued their with their hard work and pursue in the career for future endeavours. Besides, Hek also said that even parents needs to be congratulated as they are the ones who are always standing behind their children and encourage them to do well in the studies.
The laptops was awarded to students who came out with flying colours at MBOSE SSLC, HSSLC, ICSE-X, CBSE-X and ISC including HSSLC toppers in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Computer Application at the secondary and higher secondary examinations held earlier thisyear.
More than hundreds students from various schools across the state were awarded laptops by the IT Department at the august gathering today. The function was also attended by Commissioner and Secretary IT Department DP Wahlang, government officials, students, parents ane well wishers.(SP News)
