Jowai, August 30: The Jowai Municipal Board find it difficult to pay the salary of the staff since the board has no revenue of their own, it all depend on the state government for financial assistant.
The only revenue that the JMB collected is from the Service Charge which the board takes Rs. 30 rupees from each house which falls under the JMB. The income that they generated from the service charge is not sufficient just to pay the sweepers.
The JMC include 24 locality of Jowai out of which four are against the inclusion of their locality in the Municipality. The JMB is yet to realize any property tax from the residence of the JMC.
The Chief Executive officer (CEO) of the JMB told SP News Agency that at present the board has no revenue of its owns. Its is true that the board find it difficult to pay the salary of the staff.(SP News)
