Jowai, May 21: The Jaintia Youth Federation (JYF) today question the state government why the present Congress government is delaying the implementation of the Inner Line Permit in the state, said the President of the organization Mr Majaw.
The inflow of people migrant labourers from outside the state to Meghalaya is huge and these people post a threat to the demography of the state. The Government should implement the ILP so that the local people can carried out their business in their own.
The JYF president said that with his own experience, in Mozoram where ILP is in place people who visited that state has to stay only fifteen days one the permission is over he has to leave the place and this apply to all Non-Mizo comminuty.
The JYF fill that to stop of influx of outsider to Meghalaya the only mechanism is to implement the ILP, if the government is sincerer in there mind to protect the tribal indigenous tribe the Khasi, the PNar and the Garos government should immediately implement the ILP.
The ILP is not only restricting the people from out side Meghalaya but also will generate additional income to the state exchequer.(SP News)
