Shillong, March 6: Former president of India also renowned nuclear scientist who is popularly known as the ‘Missile Man of India’ visited the pine city and interacted with students from different school and colleges at St Anthony’s College today.
A humble and generous gentleman Kalam, has got all the abilities to break the boredom of the students in which from the beginning of the session students were seen enlighten by his speech.
Delivering his speech before the interactive session, the former president highlighted the students on the topic “It does not matter who we are, but what we will be”.
Dwelling on the topic Kalam encouraged the younger generation to have a vision in life as he said that with vision comes a mission.
Emphasising that the youth are the future generation of the country, the former president urged upon the youth to have a strong will and determination to reach their goals even as he said that everyone is born with a unique qualities but it is up to one’s individual to make use of it.
“Everything is possible if a person have strong determination” Kalam said
While mentioning that faliure always deter an individual Kalam inspired the students by saying that no one should be discourage by failure.
“Failure should not be the reason to stop a person from moving ahead in life in acquring their dreams”, Kalam added.
Stressing on the need to build one’s unique qualities, firstly Kalam said that everyone should have a strong aim, secondly he said they should continue to acuire knowledge, should work hard and should also have perseverance.
The interactive session was attended by school students from over 37 schools in the city as well as the students of St Anthony’s College. The session was also grace by the archbishop of the Shillong Diocese Diominic Jala besides others.(SP News)
