Jowai, Sept 14: Kiang Nangbah Government College celebrated its 47th Foundation Day today in the college Auditorium. The occasion was graced by the State Home Minster, Roshan Warjri and Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District, P.S Dkhar as the Guest of Honour. Superintendent of Police, H.G Lyngdoh, Ex Principal, Rtd Principals, Rtd Lectures were the others present on the occasion.
The Principal of Kiang Nangbah College, B.N Lamare in his introductory speech brief on the statistic of the college, the present strength of teaching faculties are 75 with 14 departments imparting education to 2924 students with 1864 day Section and 1063 Morning Section for the year 2013-2014.
Speaking on the occasion Meghalaya Home Minster, Roshan Warjri express her joy in getting the opportunity to be present for the celebration at the same time adulating all who have contribute to the development of college.
Taking pride of all the achievement and development that the college has produce for the past 46th years as well congratulating the management of the college, she express on the need to come out with more disciplines, courses that have utility for job, self-employment and empowerment of students. She said we have many talented youths in our state all they need is encouragement to pursue in their talent, she also encourage the youths to take up initiative in starting their own enterprises.
Saddened and concern at the present scenario and incidents taking place in our State, she appeal the youths to work in a constructive manner for the development of the society and the state as a whole.
Joining hands with the college authority, the Deputy Commissioner, P.S Dkhar, extend his greetings to the college on this auspicious day celebrating its 47th foundation day. While congratulating the college for its development and achievement, he impress on the need to equip more in the process of learning and to be at par with the rest of the College in the State and the Country as well.
