Shillong, June 19: Marking the success of the students who came up with flying colours in the SSLC Examination 2013, the KJP Synod Mihngi Secondary School,Pongtung organised a felicitation ceremony at the school on Wednesday.
The ceremony was organised with an aim to encourage them to do more better in their academic studies and to set their mind towards their goal.
Four students were felicitated at the ceremony which includes Bristarson Khongtani, the first divisioner with distinction and the others include Comingstar Lyngdoh, Kitboklang Lyngshiang and Balamjingshai Khongwir who secured second division with distinction from the SSLC Examinations, 2013.
Addressing the programme, Rev. C. Syiem said, “For students, the word ‘can’t’ should not be there in their dictionary as it lies only in the dictionary of fools. But they should work hard and also have respect for elders.” He added that in order to achieve their aim in life, students should ask the wisdom and knowledge from God, at the same time should work very hard.
Meanwhile, Rev. FM Gympad mentioned a short history of the school on how much it has grown so far starting on March 2005 till now. He also urged the parents to continue supporting their children in their higher studies, as many seem to move back support so quickly.
Others who spoke in the meeting include the Ex-Headman of Pongtung, School Headmaster Rev. D. Nongrumjang, teacher of the school Mrs. LB Nongrum.(SP News)
