KSU demanded that fresh examination be conducted failing which they will take their own course of action

 

Shillong, June 3: The combined recruitment in Prasar Bharati for the post of programme executives (PEX) and transmission executives (TREX) examinations 2013 conducted by the Staff Selection Commission in the city here on Sunday gathered much criticism from many job aspirants in the State as the second part of the examination was conducted in Hindi besides other languages not well conversed by the people of this region.

Lamented over the sorry state of the candidates KSU president Daniel Khyriem said that the Staff Selection Committee  should not set question papers that is unfamiliar to the students.

” We would like the Staff Selection Committee to re conduct the examination but with a language that is familiar to the students or either in English,” Khyriem said.

Terming the recruitment process as gross violation of the right to employment, Khyriem said that it is very unfortunate for the candidates as have to waste 100 marks in papper II as it in Hindi.

However, Khyriem also demanded that fresh examination should be conducted failing which they will take their own course of action.

It may be mentioned here that , the advertisement specified that vacancies for TREX post in Meghalaya was divided into separate categories-5 posts for Khasi, 4 Garo, 1 Jaintia, 1 for English, 1 for Hindi and the essential requirement laid down stated a Bachelor’s degree and proficiency in the language relevant to the vacancy.(SP News)
