KSU Khliehriat demand justice to the victim at Umkyrpong Village

Jowai, May 28: The  KSU Khliehriat Circle under the leadership of Mr. Satly Ryngkhlem, President and Mr. Cherity Suja, General Secretary Unit inthe presence of Mr. SS Niangti (General secy of KSU Jaintia Hills
District Unit) and other members  submitted a memorandum before Deputycommissioner of EJHD  on the demand to provide speedy justice to the family of salahe’s clan at Umkyrpong village(Sumer patoship) whose
two members were killed and other 2 were injured on 26/05/2014. On
this date, a gang of around 20 members armed with guns, stick, rods,
and other dreadful weapons, led by Mr Shngain Paslein, Mr Marbud
Iakai, Mr. Bud Paslein  from Umkyrpong and Mr Sen PASLEIN, Mr. Loin
Paslein, Mr Boi paslein murdered Smt Desment Salahe and Mr Nes Salahe
injured Smt Ribhamiki Salahe and Mr Priwes Salahe at 5:30 PM.
‘The gang came to that place with the intention  to kill all the
family members. The murdered is unprovoked and is pre – meditated by
the criminals. This sad incident is a shock to the victims family and
the whole village.

‘We urged the state to arrest all the culprits, who are stii in their
hiding place, and punished them with stringent laws under Fast track
court and kept them in jail for a longer duration as leaving the
criminals to roam free posed a serious threat to the life of other
family members’,  said by Mr. Satly Ryngkhlem, President KSU
Khliehriat Circle during the meeting with the DC.

On this day, the Union condemned the incident and the Union also
expressed its deep concern  and it grief  at the districts authorities
for  being unable to curb such incident especially as the law and
order  within the district continued to deteriorate.
The Deputy Commissiner of EJHD promised that  all the criminals won’t
be spared from the laws and also in delivering  justice to the victims
family.

‘We have trust and confidence that all the culprits be arrested soon
and booked for a fair trial in the contempt of law so that justice is
given in a quick time. If government fail to comply with the demand of
the Union, the union will resort to take extra  steps to obtain its
demand’, said Mr. Cherity Suja General secretary KSU Khliehriat
Circle.

Before this meeting with DC, KSU had submitted the same memorandum
before Mr. MK Dkhar, Superintendent Of Police EJHD. (SP News)
