Shillong, May 06: St. Nanak Secondary School and Laban Bengalee Boys HS School Lifts Inter School Cricket Trophy.
St. Nanak Secondary School defeated B.K.Bajoria HS School by 4 wickets and Laban Bengalee Boys HS School defeated Garo Union Secondary School by 7 wickets in the Final of 9th I P Das Memorial Under – 16 and 6th Babu Ondromoni Dkhar Memorial under 19 Inter School Cricket Tournament organised by the Shillong Cricket Association in collaboration with District Sports Office, East Khasi Hills at the Cricket Ground, Polo.
In the Under 16 finals, St. Nanak Secondary School won the toss and elected to field. B.K.Bajoria School scored 107 runs for 8 wickets in 25 overs. Ram N Chauhan scored 32 runs of 35 balls. While Bikash Kumar took 5-15 runs of 5 overs. In reply, St. Nanak Secondary School reached the target in 23.3 overs losing 6 wickets. Rajan top scored with 32 runs not out of just 35 deliveries while Kiran Biswas took 2-28 runs of 5 overs.
In the under 19 Final, Laban Bengalee Boys HS School won the toss and elected to field. Garo Union School were bundled out for 42 runs in 14 overs. Tengsrang Marak scored 13 runs of 20 balls while Amarjeet Yadav took 3-5 runs of 2 overs. In reply, Laban Bengalee Boys HS School reached the target in 8.4 overs losing 3 wickets. Suprio Chanda scored 23 runs of 15 balls. Luther Sangma took 1-9 runs of 2 overs.(SP News)
