Shillong, December 12: The Special Purpose Vehicles Society (SPVS) is set up on the direction of the supreme court order to implement the development work that will be funding by the Lafarge Umiam Manning private Limited . The main sources of funding for the SPVS entirely depend on the company Lafarge.
The Secretary of the SPVS Mr K C momin while speaking to SP News Agency said that till date the Society has not taken up any social development work since they have not completed to prepare their guideline, once they completed the guideline then they will sent to the Committee that head by the Chief secretary for fund sanction.
The Secretary admit that the Society has received many application submitted by the people form Shella area but till date they have not stated their work since they have not completed their paper work. When asked about Lafarge he said there is no connection between the company and the Society.
The project work that is to be carried out by the Society is, Health care, Agricultural base, education and Community base project. The areas that fall within are Shella and the surrounding place that are affected by the manning activities of the Lafarge Company.(SP News)
