Shillong, Jan 27: To welcome the New Year, the Laitumkhrah Sports, Social & CulturalClub organized a musical evening on the 24th January 2014 at Don Bosco Hall, Laitumkhrah, Shillong. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr Ampareen Lyngdoh, local MLA who is also the Chief Patron of the Club.
The evening witnessed a number of popular bands which includes the
Strait Brothers, Cross Roads, 4th Element and the Cubicles.
Theopening act was a song by a young talented artiste Michelle Dkhar and
DJ Gavian Lyngdoh enthralled the audience with his variety of songs to wrap up the evening. Speaking as Chief Guest on the occasion, Dr Ampareen Lyngdoh said that the Sports Club has passed through a journey of many challenges.Yet she reiterates that she has faith in the members of the Club and the people of Laitumkhrah to strive harder and to encourage the young talented boys and girls in the field of sports, social and cultural activities.
The MDC of Malki- Laitumkhrah Mr Antonio War who is also the President
of the Club in his speech said that the Sports Club will give its best
efforts in all areas of work of the Club and urged upon the people of
Laitumkhrah to support the Club in its endeavour to uplift the
activities in sports, social and cultural field.
On the occasion, MrWar also hand over a work order of Rs 10 lakhs from the MDC Scheme tothe Headman of Laitumkhrah Mr Patrick Nongrum for construction of the Dorbar Hall of the Laitumkhrah Dorbar Shnong Pyllun.(SP News)
