Shillong , Oct, 10:The Central Government financer specially NEDFi which is set up with the objective to accelerate the economic growth of the North Eastern state by financing to private entrepreneur so that they can create job opportunity to the youth of the region.
Sources from NEDFi said that they fine it difficult in financing in the state of Meghalaya due to the land tenure system that prevails in the state of Meghalaya. NEDFi could not finance big project in the state.
The project that NEDFi fiancé at this juncture in the state of Meghalaya is only small project like shop and High way lodge, restaurant and School. NEDFi has finance many people in the state in different part of Meghalaya.
The Branch Manager of NEDFi of Shillong Branch said that the problem that they face in the state of Meghalaya is the repayment of the loan that they have sanction to traders. Many of them have not paid their dues specially from the plaint belt areas of Garo Hills.(SP News)
