Shillong, March 22: Common People’s Front (CPF) candidate PBM Basaiawmoit on Friday expressed confidence that he will win the upcoming Lok Sabha polls provided his opponents stick to model code of conduct.
“I hope my colleagues in the field don’t tamper with the model code of conduct. Remove money power and I will win,” Basaiawmoit said after filing his nomination here on Friday.
“The message is clear the wave is in my favour. I hope money power don’t spoil my chances at the last moment,” Basaiawmoit added.
Basaiawmoit also said that the time had come for an “alternative kind” of politics in the state.
According to Basaiawmoit, this time around the voters of Shillong parliamentary constituency will lead to bring such a brand of politics in the country.
“Let us contribute to India and not only receive from it,” Basaiawmoit said.(SP News)
