Magisterial enquiry has been set up to find out the details of what happen on the awakening day of the KSU

Shillong, April 5: Follwing reports of vandalism that took place on the day of the traditional torce procession on the occasion of the Khasi National Awakening Day carried out by the Khasi Student’s Union from Mawdan Iewrynghep to Motphran, the deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills district Sanjayy Goyal stated that a magisterial enquiry has been set up to find out the details of what had really taken place.

The Deputy Commissioner of east Khasi district Sanjay Goyal while talking to reporters on Friday said  that there has been reports of violence and vandalism that took place during the traditional torch procession conducted by the Khasi student’s union on the occasion of the Khasi National Awakening Day in various parts of the city.

“Permission has been granted to them to carried out the procession along with drum beats and tradional dance only,” the Deputy Commissioner said.

Further, he said that reports have been received that vandalism of shops and stone pelting at vehicles besides beating passers by which is against the law.

Reacting strongly on the reports, Goyal informed that a magisterial enquiry has been set up to find out the reasons as to whether the vandlism took place out of pre plan or some vested interest person took advantage and committed such vandalism.

He also mentioned that magistrates and ADMS have been appointed to look into the details of the matter and to find out the persons involved in the crime.(SP News)
