Shillong, Feb 4: The National People’s Party (NPP) released their manifesto at their party office on Monday.
The released of the manifesto is also part of kicking off their campaign for the upcoming assembly election 2013 slated for February 23.
Talking to media persons after releasing the manifesto Senior party leader Conrad expressed confidence that the NPP will get the maximum seats in the upcoming assembly elections.
Sticking his claim on the success of his party, Sangma said “Like the congress is claiming that it will get majority seats in the elections, even I am confident that NPP will be able to form the government.”
Further highlighting on the party manifestoes, Sangma said that the manifesto of the party talks about change and growth besides it intends to keep up with the times and needs of the community in this globalised world economy.
Besides other issues such as health, education, border issue Sangma said that the NPP the party has covered each and every issue of a common man.
Dwelling further on border issue, Sangma inormed that on the border areas front, the manifesto talks of empowering citizens economically who are residing in the international border areas of the state by strengthening the existing border areas department
Interestingly while stating that the list of candidates released by the congress has brought about differences among many congress leaders like cabinet minister Saleng Sangma candidates, Sangma said “The announcement of the list is like a wish come true because if I were given a chance to pick which candidate to represent where, I would definitely choose the same which the congress high command had chosen.”
Overall, the NPP will field a total of 33 candidates out of 60 constituencies in the state.(SP News)
