Shillong, Sept 14: The much awaited two – day Annual Photography exhibition cum sale of the department of Mass Media, St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, began on September 13, 2013, at 10.00 am in the college Conference hall in the presence of the Chief Guest, dignitaries, teachers and students, among others.
This is the 16th Photography exhibition. The theme of the exhibition this year is “Life as we know it”.
The 3rd year students of both Media Technologies and Mass Communication and Video Production have put on display around 140 photographs. The exhibition was declared open by Matsiewdor War Nongbri, MCS, Director of the Department of Arts and Culture, Government of Meghalaya, who was also the Chief Guest on the occasion.
In her address, she expressed her love and appreciation for photographs and added that photography can be a good source of income. She also called upon the Mass Media department to collaborate with the Art and Culture department for future projects, stating that she looks forward for such collaborations.
On the occasion, she also informed that ‘18 degrees’ is an upcoming cultural extravaganza undertaken by the Meghalaya Arts and Culture department which will also have a photography workshop – cum – exhibition as part of the event.(SP News)
