Shillong, July 07: In Meghalaya’s first ever mega student felicitation programme, toppers of this year’s SSLC and HSSLC Examinations conducted by Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education (MBOSE) would be accorded recognition by the Education Research Development Foundation (ERDF) in association with the University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM) on Tuesday.
The students’ felicitation programme, a panel discussion on ‘Higher Education in Meghalaya: Challenges Ahead’ would be held at the same venue which would be moderated by Manas Chaudhuri, former Education Minister Meghalaya and co-moderated by Dr Manash Das Gupta, HoD Chemistry, St Anthony’s College Shillong. Fidel War, former Chairman of Meghalaya Public Service Commission, and Hony Director ERDF will also participate in the programme.
Organisers have appealed to the citizens of Shillong to attend the programme to be held at Anton Hall, St Anthony’s HS School, Don Bosco Square in Shillong from 9.30 am on July 9, 2013 in large numbers to encourage the outstanding students for their brilliant result in the Board examinations.
An array of luminaries of the State including Dr DD Lapang, former Chief Minister of Meghalaya; Dr Donkupar Roy, former Chief Minister of Meghalaya; M Ampareen Lyngdoh, Minister Science & Technology, Urban Affairs, Housing & Municipality Meghalaya; Manas Chaudhuri, former Education Minister Meghalaya; Prof P Shukla, Vice Chancellor, NEHU; and Prof B Myrboh, Pro Vice Chancellor NEHU has consented to be present on the occasion.(SP News)
