Shillong, August 28: The government of Meghalaya comes to know that certain teachers under the umbrella of the association JACATCM have announced series of agitational program to protest the government’s reluctant to meet their representative.
Whereas in fact they have been invited to meet the commissioner and Secretary, Education government of Meghalaya and the Director of higher and technical education and the director of school education and literacy to discuss on their detail of their demand with a view to provide permanent solution.
However, in spite of inviting on two occasions that is on the 16.8.2013 and 23.8.2013, the association decline on the invitation and instead has resort to agitational measure to further their demands.
The Government stands committed to its overall objectives of safeguarding the interests of the teaching community and of development and education of the youth of the state.
As such the government requests the JACATCM to refrain from any action which will harm the interest of the teaching and the student community. Reasonable demand will be examined and corrective action as and where possible said the government statement.(SP News)
