Meghalaya Governor attend Ka Nguh ka Dem ia ki Trai Ri Trai Muluk at Baniun

 

Shillong, April Governor of Meghalaya at Baniun3:The  Governor of Meghalaya, Mr. R. S. Mooshahary today attended “Ka Nguh ka Dem ia ki Trai Ri Trai Muluk” which is an annual event organized by the Sengbah ki Nongshat Nongkhein Hynniew Skum Hynniew Trep at Baniun village, East Khasi District.

The ceremony is the traditional rite held for the sanctification and well being of the people in accordance with the indigenous religion performed by the Sengbah ki Nongshat Nongkhein Hynniew Skum Hynniew Trep under the purview of the indigenous philosophy and religious belief of u Hynniew Skum Hynniew Trep.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mooshahary said that every society has its own indigenous social and ritual practices which need to be preserved and respected. He lauded the Hynniew Skum Hynniew Trep society for their tolerance to others faith and belief. As we progress, we have to cultivate and strive for harmony between the scientific advancement and traditional belief, he added.

On the occasion, Mr. Sanjay Goyal, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills released the Audio CD “Ki thied ki phniang ba im ka Ri” produced by ki Khun Samla ka Sengbah ki Nongshat Nongkhein Hynniew Skum Hynniew Trep.

Others who spoke on the occasion include Mr. R. V. Lyngdoh, local MLA, Mr. K. C. Khyriem, Parliamentary Secretary for Arts and Culture, Mr. K. Nongrum and Mr. J. Hynniewta, President and Secretary of ka Sengbah ki Nongshat Nongkhein Hynniew Skum Hynniew Trep respectively.(SP News)
