Shillong July 01: The Meghalaya police has arrested five person who where involved in car theft in the Shillong City. The arrested person are identified as Mithu Sharma, Prakash Purkayastha, Guatum Tati and Sidharth Thapa.
Mr Vivek Syiem Additional SP (Crime) told reporters that these people has lifted a Swift Desire (ML 05 J 8343) from Shillong recently abd murdered the driver of the vehicle at Lumshnong village of East Jaintia.
The driver of the car was identified as Samuel Mawlong The master mind among them was Mithu Sharma said additional SP Mr Syiem.
The Additional SP said that these gang after stilling cars from Meghalaya and Assam they transported to Manipur, Mizoram and Silchar and sold these vehicles at a very cheap price.
From the the police has recover Rs 25,000/- and many mobile. These people are also drugs user and one of them Mithu Sharma was also wanted by the Assam police.(SP News)
