Shillong, March 20: In another breakthrough of fake financial institutions in the state, the special cell of Meghalaya police busted a Silchar based Kiron Jyoti Project and Developers Private Limited’s office at Dhankheti for defrauding people of lakhs of rupees.
Acting on tip off information, the police raid the office on Wednesday night and found out that the office is operating financial bussiness by duping the people of the state especially those from unorganized sectors.
According to the police preliminary investigation, the company has duped about 150 depositors to the tune of 20 lakhs.
It was also informed that the office of this company which was in Guwahati earlier was shut down after collecting money from depositors and the agents have now linked the same depositors to Believers Management India Pvt Ltd based in Hoogly West Bengal.
Besides, on investigation it was found out that even the documents of the company appears fake as LIC and SBI life insurance shillong have denied of having any affiliation with the company as projected, informed police.
In connection to this the Police have arrested three person in this regard namely- Biswajit Chakravarti of Silchar, Nupur Barua of Jail Road and Malsawui Ralte of Mawpun. (SP News)
Thanks to the initiative taken by the Police Department. Actually I was about to lodge an FIR against this particular company after I came to know that this company has duped with 90.00 Lakhs of rupees from the villagers of Sadagram Village , Dholai Silchar Assam. The workers of the Silchar Regional office of Kironjyoti are absconding and the agents are also helpless. But it is surprising that the Office of the Kironjyoti Projects and Developers Ltd was operating just adjacent to the Dholai PS building, in the building of the State Bank of India, But the Police of (Dholai PS) does not have any knowledge on the issue and they were not even aware of the fact that a fake company is operating in the area and are duping the people.
