Shillong, August 19: The Sub-Divisional Officer (C) Sohra, Shri C.V.D. Diengdoh inaugurated the Meghalaya Rural Bank (MRB), Saitsohpen Branch at Mawpun- kyrtiang, Sohra .The Bank which is also a joint undertaking of Government of India, Government of hleghalaya and State Bank of India is the 76″ in Meghalaya and the 56th Bank in Rural areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Diengdoh lauded the staff of the Bank for their joint efforts in opening such banks in this area which he hoped will help to promote the economic growth of the people. Stating that banks played an important role in the economic growth of the society, he therefore urged upon the MRB to make innovativeapproach so that Financial Inclusion is achieved in true sense.
He called upon the people to make use of this bank by availing loan facilities and to inculcate the habit of saving money so that it can be use in times of emergency. He wished with a blessing that the Bank will grow in leaps and bound.
