Shillong, June 02: Due to militancy activities in the Garo Hills region of Meghalaya the development work activities that was taken up by the government has put on hold particularly in East Garo Hills District.
The Deputy Commissioner of the East Garo Hills District Mr Vijay Kumnar Mantri said that the militancy activities have affected the development work taken up by the government even at the village level.
The Deputy Commissioner admitted that even MGNREGA was badly affected. He also said that the militant in the area got the support of villagers, whether by intimation or on there own will he could not say but the fact remain the militant are there mingle with the villagers.
The government is trying it’s best to neutralized the militancy activities in the area, but what most important the government should get the support of the people, and let the development took place simultaneously.
On the incident that took place Williamnagar Civil Hospital yesterday the Deputy Commissioner confirm that among the three person arrested by the police two are minor and one is an adult. (SP News)
