Shillong, oct 19: On Oct. 17 around 12.30 am, Highway patrolling Police party from Rongmil OGC, intercepted some unidentified armed miscreants while they were extorting money from coal trucks and private vehicles at Gabil Bisa (EGH). On seeing the Police, the miscreants opened fire to which Police retaliated. However, the miscreants managed to escape and no casualty was reported.

Police arrested Subodh Hajong and Luis Ch. Sangma in connection with gang rape case under Mahendraganj Police station.
Shri S. Malngiang, Team Manager, Rangdjied United FC lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on Oct. 18 around 9 pm, unknown miscreants stole important documents including ID cards of the I-League players and officials of the Football Club, from his Maruti car (A/F) at Nongmalki Road, Shillong.
Unidentified persons hired one Maruti Alto (AS-18B-5229) driven by Shri Bikash Ch. Roy from Dudhnoi to Rongjeng. However, on reaching at Chichra Reserve, NH-62 (EGH), the occupants murdered the driver by slitting his throat and took away the vehicle.(SP News)
