Shillong, Oct 14:The Deputy Commissioner and the Chairman District Disaster Management Authority, East Khasi Hills has informed that the Mock Exercise on Earthquake will be held on 19th October 2013 from 9:00 am to 12 noon at Jail Road and Police Bazaar areas and appeal to the general public not to panic and confuse during such
exercise.
He further informed that the exercise is part of the preparatory steps for the “Mega Mock Exercise” to be organized in February 2014 by the State and District Management Authorities, Government of Meghalaya in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. A Capacity Development Programme (CDP) in this connection will also be conducted at Yojana
Bhawan Auditorium, Shillong from 17th to 19th October, 2013.(SP News)
