MPHRC will observed International Human Rights Day

Shillong, December 09: The Meghalaya Peoples Human Rights Council will observed International Human Rights Day tomorrow in the state Capital Shillong. The 10th December is is being celebrated worldwide, every year to mark  the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights  by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1948.

International Human Rights Day is being celebrated worldwide, every year on 10 December. This Year is the is the 63rd  year of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights  by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1948.

The Theme for this year celebration is “My Voice Counts: The right to Equal Participation in public life”.

Meghalaya Peoples Human Rights Council will also be celebrating this International Day at Shillong with the Official Release of the Khasi Text of Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948 and for which Khasi Language has been full recognized by the United Nations as one of the world languages.

Shri. Charles Pyngrope, Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.(SP News)
