Mr Robert will assume office shortly as the new MLCU Vice Chancellor

 

Shillong, June 28: The Martin Luther Christian University today held a Certificate Awarding Ceremony for Burmese Students and Installation of its new Vice Chancellor RG Lyngdoh.

Lyngdoh who will assume office shortly as the new MLCU Vice Chancellor was installed by the MLCU Chancellor Dr KM Shyamprasad .

Addressing the gathering Lyngdoh spoke of the journey and challenges of MLCU and greatly encouraged the University by his commitment to lead MLCU forward in providing relevant education and skills with a set of good and moral values to the students of MLCU who are youth of the region.

Altogether, thirteen students from Burma who have been studying in MLCU for the last three years were awarded their Bachelors Certificates in Social Work (BSW), Management (BBA) and Information Sciences (BCA).

The function presided over by the Chancellor was attended by friends of the graduates and well wishers of the University.

Dr Achan Mungleng who initiated the EBO scholarship program for the Burmese students, gave the commencement address.

Others who spoke at the function include Toki Blah, Patricia Mukhim and Mr Torist Mark. Dr Glen C Kharkongor, the out going VC has now been appointed to be the Pro Chancellor of MLCU. (SP News)
