Shillong, Aug 9: Muslims faithfuls in the state today exchange greetings with one another as they celebrated their annual religious festival Eid-Ul-Fitr.
This is a day when Muslims community show a common goal of unity.
The festival is being celebrated to mark Ramadan which is the Islamic holy month of fasting month which was observed for 29 0r 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month.
Mosque was packed with faithfuls who offered prayer and soon after that they exchange greetings Eid Mubarrak or Blessed Eid to one another.
Apart from the famous Madina mosque at Laban, special prayers were also conducted in other jam packed Eid gah’s and mosques in the city.
To mark the occasion various delicacies including Sewai and Biryani’s were prepared in the houses to mark the festive season.(SP News)
