My duty is to bring the two groups into the negotiating Table:PC Haldar

Shillong, January 05:  Mr PC Haldar the introculator  of the government of India while speaking to the reporters at Pine Wood Hotel after the tripartite meeting  he said his role is only to bring the two groups, the Achick National Volunteers Council (ANVC) and the Government  of Meghalaya to the negotiation table.

That is my duty, and what was transpired in the meeting is not his duty to say, his only duty is to give the report to the Central and state government. It’s up to the state government and the group to reply to all the quires.

When asked about the participation of the ANVC (B) Mr Haldar said that he is talking to ANVC and he take them also as the same,  because the government asked him to talk with the ANVC that is his duty.

The Union joint Secretary of Home affairs in charge of North East, Shambu Singh informed that a decision is in the pipeline to no longer hold talks with any insurgent group of the country.

Informing this to a group of reporters here in the city, Singh when inquired about the reason behind the decision said that every time talks are on with an insurgent group a small remind of the group breaks away and again continues with its illegal and totally prejudicial activities and then thinks that it will be given the same moral high ground and high table to sit and discuss and put across its demands which are basically non-existent. They better surrender he added.(SP News)
