Shillong, Septe30: The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District has informedthat the National Green Tribunal has passed an order restraining any person, company, authority tocarry out any mining activity or removal of sand from river beds anywhere in the country withoutobtaining environmental cIearance from the Ministry of Forest and Environment (MOEF)/ StateEnvironmental Impact Assessment Authority (SEW) and license from the competent authorities.(SP News)
