Shillong, Dec 19: Information on the situation of farmers in the country will be collected as part of the 70th round of the National Sample Survey, to be conducted by the National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) from January 2013.
Addressing a one-day 70th Round Regional Training Conference on Land and Livestock Holdings Debt and investment in situation assessment and agricultural housing was held at Raitong building on Wednesday DC Sharma an official from the National Sample Survey Office said “The 70th round of National Sample Survey, starting from January 2013 that will continue for the entire year will study the situation of farmers, their indebtedness and landholding positions,”.
He also mentioned that through the survey, the NSSO will be able to gather information and data which in turn help the beneficiaries.
Sharma also informed that, during the training camp, the field functionaries would be explained about the schedules of enquiry, procedures for data collection and the quality control measures during the first two days while on the last day, the enumerators will collect data in dummy schedules.The training programme was organised by the National Sample Survey office Ministry of Statistics.(SP News)
