Shillong April 26: The North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NNEPCO) a government of India under taking cut their power supply to the Meghalaya Electrical Corporation Limited (MeECL) due to non payment of dues of Rs. 243.34 cores to the company.
Sources told SP News Agency that before taking this step the NEEPCO authority has reputedly remind the MeECL and fix the date 25th April as the due date for payment but they have not responds, the NEEPCO has not alternative but to cut power supply to the Meghalaya State.
The NEEPCO official Smti Kathrin Rani Senior Manager Finance confirm that the power cut is done by the Company due to non payment of dues by the MeECL, the power cut wad done from the two project of the NEEPCO one from the Assam Gas base power station and the others is from the Agartala Gas Turbine Power Station.
NEEPCO official said that this power cut to Meghalaya will continued till the MeECL clear the pending dues own by them. (SP News)
