NHAI agreed to pay for the crops damage: HDR Lyngdoh

Shillong, December 13:  The PWD Minister HDR Lyngdoh while replying to the question in the floor of the house   related to the Shillong Bye-Pass said that National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has agreed to pay the compensation for the crop damage that occurred during the construction of the Shillong Bye-Pass.

In the supplementary question the MLA of Jaiaw want to know if the project could be inaugurated during this month December the PWD minister said that the road will not be completed in this month since the remaining work of 30% is still left but the project will be completed before the time frame since February 2014 is the date line.

The PWD minister said that the government has paid for the land compensation but the former demand that they should be paid for the damage of the crops.  What the KSU said is for the crops not for the land compensation. When the money received from NHAI then they will pay to the farmers.(SP News)
