Shillong, Aug 1: North East India has the potential to grow in film making considering the abundant scope the region holds observed Meghalaya Governor, Dr.KK.Paul on Thursday.
Dr Paul was addressing a gathering at the film festival organised by the St.Anthony’s College.
Dr Paul also pointed out that there is a need for the region to opon its gates to the outside world.
Stating that their is no dearth of talent in the field of film making, Paul observed that such events will not only attract attention of film makers from outside the state, but also encourage the local talents to venture and showcase their creativity. He however felt that the intentions of the director should be able to be decoded by the general masses through his movies.
A variety of movies ranging from the mid sixties to current generation besides documentaries was screened at the event. (SP News)
