Shillong, July 12: Keeping in view the ensuing election at the Parliamentary and District autonomous councils, the National People’s Party (NPP) announced that its State Executive committee has been revamped to strengthen the party.
NPP legislator James Sangma while talking to reporters here on Friday informed that various issues are being discuss at the committee meeting besides the party has also come up with a strong solution with regards to the issues faced by the state at present.
“The NPP has come up with twelve strong solutions cortices the government for its failure to address various issues hampering the state as a whole,” NPP legislator Mr Sangma said.
Expressing concern and at the same time blame the government for the deteriorating law and order situation in Garo hills in particular and the state as a whole, the NPP urged upon the government to take concrete steps to restore peace and normalcy back to Garo Hills.
Besides, the NPP also expressed concern over the problem of influx and therefore urged upon the government for an immediate implementation of the ILP as a stop-gap-arrangement besides implementation of the identity card system for genuine citizens and work permit to curb the illegal influx into the state till the government is ready with its so-called comprehensive-mechanism.
The NPP also blame the government for its inability to check against women and also demanded that Nirul Islam an accused for raping a girl should be arrested immediately Besides, the NPP also demanded the government to use old ballot system in place of EVM machines
Amongst others the NPP castigate the government for its failure to check corruption in the state, private universities operating in the state, price rise and border issues.(SP News)
