Shillong, December 10: The Speaker of the 
was shock to day to hear from various speakers that the Meghalaya state Government that has pass the bills in the floor of the house declaring Khasi and Garo Language as official associate language of the state has not sent the resolution to the central government since 2005.
Speaking as the chief quest at the function organized by the Meghalaya People Human Right Council (MPHRC) said that he was not aware at the same time he inform the gathering that since the legislative has no right to say anything over the Executive, but sine the matter has been brought before him he will request the chief minister to do it in this session.
The Speaker also pointed out in this gathering that even though the declaration of human right has been long time back but till today many human right are still violated in different form of Discrimination to different section of people. He appreciate the MPHRC for working hard to highlight the various problem that was committed to individuals right.
The General Secretary of the MPHRC Mr Dino DG Dympep lamented about the state of affair who the state government deal with the Khasi Language. Till date the fact remains that the Khasi language has not been standartniest. Mr Dympep question who is responsible for this , he felt that this is the job of the state government to do so.
Comparing with others tribes whose language has been recognized by the eighth schedule of the constitution he said Khasi language was far developed but since there is lack of political ethic from our legislators and representative to Parliament the khasi language has not been inserted to the eight schedule of the Indian constitution.
Others speaker at the meeting to celebrate the International human Right day at the Khasi National Dorbar Hall were Dr SS Majaw, and many others. On this day the translation of the UN Chatter to the khasi language was also released by the speaker.
The speaker on this day unveils the website where the khasi language was also recognized as one the language at the United Nation organization. (SP News)
