Tura, 28th September: In another success for the police forces against militancy a cadre of the dreaded GNLA was caught by the police in Purakhasia. The incident happened in the afternoon of the 28th of September while the arrested cadre was serving demand notes to people of the region. David Ch Momin of GNLA was caught by the Police and he was a part of the team under the command of Jackfruit.
Speaking on the incident, the SP of West Garo Hills, Mukesh Kumar Singh said, “We received specific inputs on the movement of cadres within the Purakhasia region and were on high alert to nab the cadres of the outfit. We found one person serving demand notes to the people of the area. We immediately nabbed him with the help of the people of Purakhasia who kept us informed of the whereabouts of the person. We nabbed him with the help of the locals of the area”.
David Ch Momin was found with 1 pistol and 5 live rounds from his possession. Incidentally, he was also a part of the incident in Garodoba wherein three people were killed during an attack by the GNLA on people there. (SP News)
