Shillong, Jan 4: One person identified as Iohborlang Shylla who was a truck handy man died hen of a truck (AS01 DC 3843) he was travelling from Shillong to Sohra fell into a deep gorge at Ri Dympep near Mawkdok Bridge at around 11pm on January 3.
Souarces informed that the accident occured as the truck was over speeded. It was also informed that the deceased was found found mid-way of the gorge where he was pronounced dead. Meanwhile, the driver of the truck, Skhemborlang Jana escaped un-hurt. The dead body of Shylla was taken to Shillong Civil Hospital on Friday.
In another incident three persons were injured when an auto-rickshaw which was about to reach its destination overturned on a turning after losing it balance at Mongalgre under Rongram Block, West Garo Hills on January 3 at 7:37 P.M. The victims who were identified as Galen Sangma (50years/male), Donseng Marak (56years/male) and Kamilson D. Marak (20years/male) was later taken to Civil Hospital, Tura with the help of the 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based at Dadenggre and Asanang.(SP News)
