Shillong, June 6: The family of Selukos Shadap from Mawrong village in Ri-Bhoi district who was ostracized from the village by the local dorbar for alleging them to be practicing witct craft seek support from the concern authority to pursue with the case as they said that they are not involve with such practices.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Selukos Shadap informed that he along with his family are still in the state of shock as they are not aware of the reasons why the dorbar shnong had to ostracize them from the village when they have not committed any crime.
Shadap informed that on April 12 last the dorbar shnong ostracize them on grounds of practicising withcraft and since that day they have not been able to return to their own place.
“Actually we do not want to fight against the local dorbar but we thought we will settle the matter by compromising ,” Shadap said adding for that reason only that they did not file any personal complaint.
However, he said compromisation with the local dorbar does not happen.
Having no other solution he seek the help of NGO’s and local representatives.
“FIR from the NGO’s side was file however nothing has been done so far” Shadap informed.
With nobody to hear listen to their problems and having no where to go shadap urged upon the concern authority to look into the matter and come up with a clear cut picture of their family as they were not involeved in any practices as being alleged.
“No matter what it takes now I will stand up for the right of my family and myself”, Shadap added. (SP News)
