Parvati of Meghalaya won the Silver Medal in All India Sub Junior Archery Championship

 

Shillong, Jan 12: Parvati Nair Meghalaya state won the Silver Medal in All India Sub Junior Archery Championship conducted from 01 Jan to 06 Jan 2014 at Rothak, Haryana.  Teams from all states and important archery training institutions took part in the event.  The event was conducted by the Archery Association of India. She was ranked second in All India Ranking.

Parvati Nair, a Class VIII student of the Army Public School, Happy Valley, Shillong got her training from the 58 GTC Gorkha Training Centre, Archery Node under Sub Sonam Tshering Bhutia.  The Sports Authority of India (SAI), Meghalaya also took active part in training the young archerer.

Parvati Nair, aged only 13 years, has taken part in the All India Junior and Senior Archery Competitions held last year at Kokhrajhar and Jamshedpur and was ranked 13th in the all India Ranking in both the events.(SP News)
