Shillong, July 19: Referring to the recent chapra tragic incident that took place in primary schoo in saran district of Bihar where 22 children died after consuming mid-day meal, Congress leader and Haryana minister for industries and commerce Randeep Singh Surjewala urged upon the people to be more vigilant about the quality of food grains supplied under this scheme and that adulteration of food supplied under this scheme cannot and will not be accepted.
The cabinet minister of government of Haryana while expressing occern over the lost of lives of primary school children in Chapra of Saran district in Bihar, Singh informed that as per the preliminary enquiry, the food was laced with a particular insecticide which is used to adulterate cooking oil that caused the death of primary school children.
In connection to this he urged upon the people should be more vigilant about the quality of the food. Singh also said that the implementation of the mid-day meal scheme comes within the yardstick provided by the government of India and while implementation of the scheme the quality of food grains specification should be maintained.(SP News)
